Slow cooker style… because that makes the onions and beef oh-so-tender… and delicious. Best of all, Carolyn’s baguettes are completely gluten free.
Serves 4
Ingredients
2-3 pound beef loin or chuck roast
medium sweet onion, thinly sliced
1 cup bone broth
Sea salt & Black pepper
3 Tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon wheat-free soy
1/3 teaspoon mustard powder
dash onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
dash cinnamon
Preparation
- prepare Carolyn’s Delicious Baguettes
- sprinkle the meat with salt and pepper
- thinly slice the onions and spread along the bottom of a lightly oiled crock pot
- sear the meat 3-4 minutes each side to brown as it will not brown in the slow cooker, then place on top of the onions in the slow cooker.
- mix the apple cider vinegar, bone broth, and spices together and pour over the meat/onions in the slow cooker.
- set the slow cooker to low and…
- Go do something… while you let your meat slow cook for 6-8 hours
- About 40 minutes before you are ready to serve up your slow cooked meat, preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
- Follow the directions to bake Carolyn’s Delicious Baguettes ~20-25 minutes
- while the baguettes are baking, remove the meat from the crock pot and very thinly slice for sandwiches.
- When the baguettes are ready, remove from the oven and cool until you can handle them. Slice in half. Layer with sliced beef, cooked onions, lettuce, and my favorite tomato-mayo sauce
- Pour the Au Jus (the broth and drippings) into ramikens and serve.
