Baguettes. Could there be anything more decadent than crusty French bread (paleo style)? OMG this is good!
I made these into my other missed lunch (or dinner) favorite: French Dip. Whoa!
Makes 2
Ingredients
¾ cup plus approximately 1 Tablespoon blanched almond flour
¼ cup plus 2 Tablespoons arrowroot flour
⅛ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon active yeast
2 cloves garlic, minced (optional—makes a nice garlic bread)2 Tablespoons water
1 egg, beaten
¾ teaspoon raw honey
¾ teaspoon olive oil
¼ teaspoon raw apple cider vinegar
¼-½ cup coconut milk
Special item: Parchment paper
Preparation
- Find your parchment paper.
- Combine the dry ingredients (the first five).
- Combine the wet ingredients (all but the coconut milk).
- Mix together the dry and wet ingredients. Start by slowly adding coconut milk until a thick batter. Add slowly.
- Let rise for 1 ½ hours.
- Form into individual loaves. Place on parchment paper. Score lines across the loaf using a knife.
- Bake 25-30 minutes, until cooked through and lightly browned on top. Use a toothpick to test, it will come out clean.
- Cool 15 minutes before slicing.
