Amazing how simple and great tasting making your own spices can be. Just blend together these ingredients and you’ll have a dry mix to store in your spice pantry. That is, if any is left after making beef tacos, chicken or shrimp fajitas, grain and dairy-free nachos… more.
Not only can you control the spice, the flavor/heat, and keep the ingredients healthy… you also save money. Way to win!
Makes ~13 teaspoons and ~5 is perfect for 1 pound of ground beef
Ingredients
1½ tsp salt
3½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon cayenne powder (skip if you use hot chili powder)
2 teaspoon ground cumin
2½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon ground coriander
½ teaspoon dried oregano
How Simple It Is (double—or more—the blend for future)
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Use for everything that calls for taco seasoning…. Chicken for nachos (I use Siete lime flavored taco chips or any from this assortment and dairy-free cheddar), ground beef for – well anything you use ground beef for, and… what else do you use taco seasoning for? Oh, other ground meats I guess. Ground turkey. Pork. Taco rubbed grilled salon (or any other meat…) Yeah.
